A qui profite le crime ?
( Lulendo )
16.00€
Lulendo was born in Maquela do Zombo in Northern Angola. In Luanda
where he grew up, he sang in protestant Church choirs. In Maquela where
he spent his holidays, his grandfather taught him the Bakongo
traditions and rituals, as well as the art of the likembe (sanza). In
1982, the civil war drew him to exile in Paris, where he founded his
band in 1993.
On this first album, he expresses the emotions of the exiles from a country torn by war. How can someone move forward and surpass a past and a present full of suffering, without losing his roots? His music outlines the hope of a better future and the emergence of a new African conscience, open-hearted and showing solidarity. Other pieces on this album are like pictures of the daily life in his region of origin. Lulendo's music is unique, personal, introspective, modern and original.
