For 25 years, Didier Petit has been looking at and listening inquisitively to the sound(s) of our environment. He offers unusual music reflecting the world, our world. Scraped, sung, rubbed and plucked, the cello is revealed here as an extremely complete instrument of many unsuspected facets. This album was recorded in Menneapolis at the end of a tour in the USA.

"At one point, I lifted my head up off the score to discover what music really was, and I found an instrument I didn't know! I've learned everything I know from it, and over time, through playing it and with it, I've learnt to be completely up against it, to hold it tight with my whole self; to become the sounds it was producing, because all music has to be incarnated in order to exist. With that, the voice seemed a natural follow-on. It is the voice of the cello. Anyway, I cannot sing without it, and it is more the instrument that makes me vulnerable than the other way around. People say I sing in Braille, and I rather like that idea. My fingers are like eyes and they tell my vocal chords what to do."
