Bugarrigarra" is the Yawuru word for the Dreaming — a matrix of
creation that embodies the past, present and future. In this collection
of songs, Jowandi, a Yawuru composer, singer and musician, invites
other Aboriginal artists to tell the story of their people. Travel to
the heart of the Australian continent, with songs accompanied on the
didgeridoo (or "yidaki", a tube instrument made from a eucalyptus trunk
or branch hollowed out by termites and played with the circular
breathing technique) and the Kali boomerangs, a percussion instrument
also cut from the branch or root of a eucalyptus tree, whose sharp
strikes and rattles produce a unique sound that creates the pulse of
the performance.
