As usual, the talented accordionist and singer Robert Santiago revisits
the sparkling repertoire of Latin America: Venezuela, Mexico, Panama,
Colombia, Haiti, Brazil, Santo Domingo and Peru, with cheerful songs
and torrid arrangements enhancing the change of scene.
“I have chosen to call this album « Panamericana » because its
repertoire, on which I have worked since the 70s, draws its inspiration
from the musical cultures of the whole Latin continent. Panamericana
also evokes the road that crosses South America from north to south, a
road used by millions of people every day, all of whom have the Spanish
language in common. Furthermore, some of my most beautiful musical
encounters have taken place around the “Pana”, as people call it over
there.” Robert Santiago.
