Ce film de Stéphane Jourdain, tourné à l’occasion du mémorable concert de clôture du festival « Banlieues Bleues » en avril 2006, est un hommage au grand chanteur éthiopien Mohammed Jimmy Mohammed décédé en décembre 2006. Hormis l’enregistrement du concert du trio avec Han Bennink, le mythique batteur venu du free jazz, ce DVD de 80 minutes présente de nombreux bonus, dont des entretiens avec Mohammed qui parle de sa cécité, de sa foi et de son art.

Shot during a memorable concert in April 2006 at the Banlieues Bleues festival in Paris, this film by Stephane Jourdain is a tribute to the great Ethiopian singer Mohammed Jimmy Mohammed, who passed away in December of that same year. Besides the concert featuring his trio and the mythical free-jazz drummer Han Bennink, this 80’ DVD presents, among other bonuses, an interview of Mohammed who talks about his blindness, his faith and his art.
