Live in Paris

Recorded live at Théâtre de la Ville-Les Abbesses (Paris) in 2011, this album features a trio of musicians hailing from Sweden. An unusual instrument stands out: Johan Hedin’s nyckelharpa, inherited from the Middle Ages. Part violin, part hurdy-gurdy, part viola d’amore, it sounds akin to a baroque gamba. Pelle Bjørnlert is a master fiddler and Erik Pekkari an accomplished zither player as well as a virtuoso of the diatonic accordion. They present a brilliant repertoire of traditional dances (polskas, gammaldans).
