This trio takes a new and unique look at the jewels of religious music of Lower Brittany. Handed down through the generations and still practised to this day, these songs are like mirrors to the soul of the people who are singing of their faith. The repertoire presented here is the fruit of a work of research, harmonisation and instrumentation, respectful of the particular character of each of the melodies. The cello introduces the vocal, underlines the melody, provides ornaments, embellishments and variations. As for the harmonium, it brings different harmonic colours according to the style of the melody, the character and the rhythm of the pieces. Instrumental works by classical composers, inspired by Breton cantata, also incorporate traditional melodies.
