Here is the new album from the band Radio Tarifa, which has been silent since the death of one of its co-founders, Benjamin Escoriza.
Radio Tarifa was born in Madrid from the meeting of three musicians: Faín Sánchez Dueñas (Valladolid), Vincent Molino (Montpellier), and Benjamín Escoriza (Granada).
Faín and Vincent met in 1985 while playing in a medieval music band. They also shared an interest in Arabic and Mediterranean music. Later, they met Benjamín, whose voice, stage presence, and particular poetic flair for songwriting were both admired.
In keeping with Radio Tarifa's usual tradition: ten traditional songs and four original songs. As usual, Faín handled the production and most of the musical arrangements. This time, in Benjamín Escoriza's absence, nine singers participated in the recording. The influences are numerous: rock, flamenco, medieval polyphony, Castilian, Greek, Breton, Japanese, and other folklore.
